Other Assistance

Here are several other opportunities which you can pursue to help finance the cost of your training at Phoenix Seminary:

Veterans' Benefits

Eligible veterans may receive many of the GI Bill education benefits at Phoenix Seminary. Further information is available from the Student Services Office.

Denominational and Church Assistance

Some denominations have scholarships and loan programs to assist seminary students. Many local churches have also established scholarship funds for students who are members.

Student Ministries, Inc. (SMI)

This is a nonprofit national organization established to help theological students receive financial support in conjunction with involvement in a part-time ministry. Students seek to raise financial support from family, friends, church or others, who send donations to SMI, where they are receipted and forwarded to the student as a monthly salary. This provides a means of financial support which is tax-deductible for contributors and enables students to be involved in significant ministry while in school. The source of income can be especially helpful for students who have been supported for ministries or mission work before coming to Phoenix Seminary, and whose supporters would like to help them continue in ministry on a part-time basis while they are in seminary. Further information is available by calling 866-653-8802 or by visiting their website at http://www.studentministriesinc.org/.

Apartment Life

Apartment Life provides students the potential of an apartment free of charge in exchange for reaching out to other residents of an apartment complex with the love and grace of Jesus Christ. Please visit http://www.caresteam.org/ for more information.

Foundation Grants to Individuals

This is a source-book which lists hundreds of foundations which offer grants to graduate students. It is available for perusal in most public libraries. Students may locate foundations associated with parents, employers, regional areas, scholastic ability, or personal vocational interest.

Deferment of Loans

Phoenix Seminary is designated as an eligible institution which allows students to defer existing student loans while attending Phoenix Seminary as a full-time or half-time student. Contact the lender of your existing loan for more information.
